Make a Difference in the Fight to End Epilepsy

The Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles chooses to fulfill its mission by leading the fight to END EPILEPSY. Your involvement plays a huge role in the fight. By helping raise funds and awareness, your support helps us continue to:

Offer camps, retreats and events that are safe and fun for children, teens, and adults with epilepsy in order to empower, combat isolation, and promote friendships.

Increase awareness through our public service announcements and advocacy efforts so our community and policymakers are knowledgeable in order to promote understanding, access and justice for people with epilepsy.

Outreach to groups at greater risk of epilepsy:

  • Help4Heroes targets returning veterans with traumatic brain injury (TBI) at risk of developing post-traumatic epilepsy (PTE).
  • Seizure Smart Schools trainings educate school nurses and personnel, parents of students with epilepsy, and students about brain safety, seizure first aid, and the impact of epilepsy on learning.
  • A Seniors and Seizures program is also being developed.

Provide grants to support the training and work of neurology/epilepsy specialists and the epilepsy dietary therapy programs at three local hospitals in order to increase access to specialty care and improve outcomes for children with epilepsy.

Provide epilepsy education and psychosocial support in these ways in order to promote prevention of epilepsy, seizure freedom and safety:

  • Helpline
  • Resource Center
  • Second Saturday Seminars
  • Support and Therapy Groups
  • Epilepsy Brain Storm Summit (annual bilingual conference)
