Fundraising Honor Roll

My name is Jonathan Barton and Epilepsy found me November 2011 and  I was diagnosed with it. Since then it has turned my world around so many times and changed not only my life, but my family's life as well. I am a father of 3 beautiful children, 1 girl, and 2 boys. My daughter is 12 and she couldn't be any better in my life. She has been a major player in as my inspiration in working on spreading Epilepsy in Riverside County. My 2 boys are 4 and 2 and are beginning to see the effects of my epilepsy and understand that at times daddy has an ?Ouchy? as one of my son says.

I had taken a 10 week leave at the beginning of the year while I was going through test after test and being put on medication. Recently I have been changed to a whole different medication as the previous one wasn?t controlling my condition as well as we hoped it would. So we are hoping for better control this time around.

While going through all this I didn?t want to sit back and let this take my life over, so with support of my family I began searching for ways to raise the awareness in my community as there is a lack of it. I did do the Sharon Walk Ride Run 2012 with my team ?Team Barton? and we raised $3500 for the San Diego foundation and it was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. Since then I have continued to get involved in another foundation and am working with them closely in Riverside County/Inland Empire.

With all this I have meet so many people that have Epilepsy and have gotten plenty of support and fellowship. That?s why this is so important in doing these 5k?s to raise the money to help those that are in need.
