Team B-Star is a motley crew of friends and family who all come together to support one awesome little girl who loves hello kitty, sushi, anything purple, and who happens to have spent the last 2 years struggling with seizures. Brooklyn is turning 5 soon and in addition to her birthday, she will be celebrating a few months seizure-free. This is great news and we remain cautiously optimistic. Trouble is, no one knows what caused her seizures and not even the best doctors can tell us when or even if the seizures will start again. In the meantime, Team B-Star is committed to supporting education and research efforts, on behalf of Brooklyn and everyone else who struggles with seizures. Join us this year in the WALK TO END EPILEPSY!

UPDATE (OCTOBER 11, 2012)

Brooklyn recently started kindergarten and LOVES it! After being seizure-free for a few months, Brooklyn has started having seizures again. One of the greatest challenges in this process is the unknown - not knowing when the seizures will come, not knowing what is causing them, not knowing what damage they are causing, not knowing when and if they will ever stop. But what we do know is that we will continue all avenues to find out everything we can. We do know that Brooklyn continues to get the best medical care and advocacy. And we know that Brooklyn is a strong girl and she isn't going to let seizures define her. 

For these reasons above and many more, we are participating in the Walk to End Epilepsy on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena.

Our participation signifies that we have joined the fight to END EPILEPSY.
